He moved to London Underground in 2007, first as part of the Sponsor team, then as Reliability, Availability, Maintainability (RAM) Engineering Manager in charge of all aspects of performance through the design, installation, commissioning and reliability growth phases of the £1b Victoria Line Upgrade. Since 2011, Rakesh has been part of TfL’s Systems Engineering team as Professional Head of RAM, providing thought leadership and business maturity growth to one of TfL’s key Mayoral challenge areas. During this time he has also led the development of futuristic ‘visions’ in order to provoke creative thought and discussion on the future of transport, given the background of increasingly changing technology and data.
